Latvian aviation support company FCG Ops has hired Balan Varma as its business development manager in India. With over 30 years of experience, Varma will work to expand the company’s services and establish new partnerships in India’s fast-growing aviation sector.

Varma previously worked with Air Works India Engineering, Quikjet Cargo Airlines and Air Deccan, managing regulatory coordination, operations and ground handling. In his new role, he will introduce FCG Ops' services and build strong client relationships across the region.

Yuri Nadezhdin, director of business development, says: “We are happy to welcome Varma to the FCG Ops team. His deep understanding of the Indian market and unmatched operational experience align perfectly with our vision for growth.”

Varma’s appointment follows the hiring of Thomas Smith in October 2024 to oversee the APAC region, furthering FCG Ops’ goal of becoming a key aviation support provider in Asia.
