Roraima modernises ops with P2012 Traveller pair
The pair of P2012 aircraft have improved Roraima Airways’ ability to serve Guyana with advanced medevac, VIP charters and remote location access.
Roraima Airways Director of Aviation and Chief Pilot Gerald Gouveia Jr. flew one of the newly-acquired aircraft from Canada to the company's home base in Guyana.

Roraima Airways has added two Tecnam P2012 Traveller Continental aircraft to its fleet, becoming the first operator of the type in its region. Delivered from Tecnam’s headquarters in Capua, Italy, the aircraft will be used for passenger charters, medical evacuation and cargo operations. The first P2012 was flown from Canada to Guyana in a ferry flight performed by a joint team that included Roraima’s director of aviation and chief pilot, Gerald Gouveia Jr.

“We are expanding VIP passenger experience, charter operations, cargo and medevac flights, offering a higher level of safety and luxury even in the jungle,” says Gouveia Jr. “Roraima has a very proud history of providing these services to the people of Guyana during the day and the night. Due to the risk of operating in the jungle without proper weather reporting and adverse weather conditions, we had actually restricted the night flying at the company. With the Tecnam aircraft and its additional technology and safety standards, as well as the work that the government is doing to improve the quality of the airstrips across Guyana, we are looking to restart our night medevac service.”

The P2012 Traveller offers flyers such features as spacious single seats with USB ports, dual air conditioning for pre-boarding cooling and under-seat storage, designed to enhance passenger comfort. Its multi-mission configuration supports 24-hour medevac operations, improving access to emergency care and transport in Guyana.

Roraima Airways serves destinations across Guyana, the Caribbean, and northern Brazil, where the safety and reliability of multi-engine aircraft like the P2012 are vital. The Traveller’s competitive operating costs and capability to access remote locations make it an invaluable addition to Roraima’s operations.
