Heloair, a regional helicopter operator based in Richmond, Virginia, has been acquired by Fundamental Advisors as part of the firm’s new helicopter investment strategy. This acquisition marks a significant step in Heloair's expansion, granting the company access to additional resources to further its mission of supporting public safety through aviation.

Founded in 1993, Heloair provides utility and fire suppression services, patrolling over 50,000 miles of pipeline and 10,000 miles of power lines annually, and overseeing 750,000 acres of controlled fire burn. The company maintains the highest safety standards in the rotary aviation industry through advanced training and a rigorous management programme.

Under the new partnership, Heloair will continue to be led by its founder and president, Whit Baldwin, who will retain a stake in the company. Expressing his excitement about the collaboration, Baldwin says: "We are thrilled to be joining forces with Fundamental, whose focus on investing behind public purpose assets is closely aligned with Heloair's mission to promote public safety through aviation. With this partnership, we will have the resources to support critical growth initiatives and business development in our target markets, while better serving our existing clients with a broader range of capabilities. We're confident this partnership will continue to position Heloair as the helicopter operator of choice across the mid-Atlantic region and beyond."
