German MRO services provider FAI Technik has achieved a 7,800 landings inspection on a Bombardier Challenger 604, demonstrating the company's advanced maintenance expertise. The inspection, one of the most comprehensive and rare procedures conducted on the airframe, underscores FAI Technik's ability to provide support for executive aircraft.

The 7,800 landings inspection was completed in over 6,000 manhours and required extensive disassembly of the aircraft. Key components including the engines, fuel tanks, APU, thrust reversers and flight controls underwent thorough non-destructive testing like X-ray, ultrasonic, eddy current and magnetic inspection.

In conjunction with the inspection, FAI Technik completed a full cabin refurbishment, upgrading the unique 18-passenger layout for elegance and functionality. The customer-focused layout now offers increased comfort and is ideal for larger groups seeking premium travel experiences. To enhance operational features, FAI Technik installed a state-of-the-art SwiftBroadband (Aviator 350) satcom system, providing seamless connectivity for all aboard.

"Performing a 7,800 landings inspection is a complex and rare undertaking. I am proud of our team for their exceptional performance in delivering this project on time and to the satisfaction of our customer," says Michael Axtmann, managing director of FAI Technik. "Our ability to execute such intricate tasks reflects the unparalleled expertise of the team and the investments we've made in our MRO capabilities."

FAI Technik is now preparing for another 7,800 landings inspection on a Challenger 604 scheduled for January 2025.
