Duncan completes ambitious Global 5000 interior

Duncan Aviation's Lincoln, Nebraska facility has completed a distinctive partial interior refurbishment on a Global 5000 that sports seating influenced by luxury sports car design.

“The refurbished interior centres around custom seats crafted to reflect the colour and sophistication of the owner's luxury vehicle,” explains Duncan Aviation lead designer Jaime Blanken. “We achieved an exact colour match, adding perforated details along the sides and double-stitched square quilted inserts, which bring an upscale, automotive touch.”

The new carpet, fabric lower sidewalls, countertops, seats, entryway flooring, fabric divan, fabric aft dividers, entry curtain and flight deck curtains give the aircraft a fresh and modern look that blends well with the existing neutral wood colours.

“The eclectic mix of textures, patterns and neutral wood of the cabinetry gives the space a bohemian-inspired vibe,” Blanken continues. “It's a unique palette that avoids beige but still feels warm and inviting.”

Duncan Aviation's interior innovative solutions team developed a custom simulated solid surface finish that was applied to the lavatory and galley countertops, matching the aircraft's updated neutral grey tones and complementing the warmth of the wood.

“This pattern ties in beautifully with the veining and tones of the real wood veneer while balancing the aircraft's grey accents, achieving a cohesive look with just the right amount of contrast,” Blanken goes on.

Additionally, the entryway, aft lavatory and front crew lavatory were outfitted with new grey marble LVT flooring. The flooring's warm brown and cream veining enhances the cabin's sophisticated, modern look, harmonising with the cabinetry and other design elements throughout the aircraft.

The aircraft's director of maintenance, Jesse Winn, said the owner was really pleased with the new interior and the overall experience at Duncan Aviation.

“He is particularly impressed with the seats, and overall we had a great experience. We've worked with Duncan Aviation several times, and we will definitely continue to return for the outstanding service. We've been more than happy with the service we've received each time.”
