Geisinger Life Flight joins ACSF’s aviation safety action programme
The programme strengthens Geisinger Medical Center’s commitment to safety in medical air transport, with a focus on proactive risk mitigation and continuous improvement.
Geisinger Medical Center has a more than 100-year history of providing healthcare in rural and urban Pennsylvania.

Geisinger Medical Center has joined the Air Charter Safety Foundation’s (ACSF) Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP), demonstrating its commitment to safety in medical aviation.

Geisinger Life Flight, an air ambulance service operated by Geisinger Medical Center, has been a leader in medical air transportation across central and northeast Pennsylvania for over 40 years. Its adoption of advanced technologies such as night vision equipment, single-pilot instrument flight certification and satellite tracking systems has consistently exceeded National Transportation Safety Board requirements.

ASAP fosters a proactive safety culture, enabling participants to report safety concerns voluntarily, with no fear of reprisal. The programme helps identify and address risks early, sharing corrective actions and safety data with the broader aviation community to improve overall industry practices.

President and CEO of ACSF, Bryan Burns, expressed his enthusiasm for Geisinger's participation, saying: “Geisinger Medical Center's decision to join the ACSF's ASAP underscores its unwavering commitment to safety and operational excellence. Its decades of experience and reputation as a leader in medical air transportation make it an invaluable addition to the programme. Together, we can continue to advance safety practices and create a safer aviation environment for all.”
