PHI boosts air medical coverage in California
Located at Red Bluff Municipal Airport, a new base allows the company to extend the reach of its life-saving care across the region.

US air ambulance and medical services provider PHI Air Medical has opened a base at Red Bluff Municipal Airport, California, which went into service on 6 December 2024.

PHI identified a need for the additional air medical base after reviewing its surrounding flights. This new base will expand existing access to life-saving care with more emergency air evacuation aircraft and crew, and is equipped with a Bell 407 utility helicopter.

"We are so proud to announce the opening of this new base in Red Bluff," says Eric Lewis, programme director at PHI Air Medical. "With this extension of our reach, we will be better equipped to serve the Red Bluff community and provide the crucial care it needs when life-threatening emergencies occur."
