Duncan encourages early upgrades to Gogo ATG systems
To avoid disruption, the company has offered credits to incentivise transitions to its new in-flight connectivity system ahead of a 2025 deadline.

Anticipating a backlog in 2025, Duncan Aviation has encouraged its customers to upgrade early from Gogo's legacy air-to-ground (ATG) connectivity systems to Avance L3 or Avance L5 platforms. As the aviation industry moves towards improved in-flight connectivity, legacy ATG customers must upgrade their hardware to connect to the new LTE network by December 31, 2025.

As its 2025 deadline nears, Duncan Aviation anticipates that operators will struggle to find facility capacity for the necessary installations. To help operators avoid disruptions, the company is providing credits to those who schedule a Gogo installation at one of its satellite facilities before the end of 2024.

Operators who install a Gogo system on their aircraft in December 2024 can earn between $7,500 to $10,000 as a credit on future avionics work performed on the same aircraft at the same satellite shop, depending on the system they choose. In addition, Gogo is offering rebates to customers that upgrade from its legacy ATG systems to the following systems during that same time period:

- C1: $35K rebate upon Avance installation. When customers upgrade from C1 to Avance in the future, they have to trade in the C1 line replaceable units (LRU) to receive the rebate

- Avance L3 Plus or Max: $25,000 rebate from Gogo

- Avance L5: $50,000 rebate from Gogo

Gogo introduced the C1 as a transitional solution that allows legacy ATG users to maintain connectivity and extensive coverage, including the contiguous US and parts of Canada and Alaska. Installation downtime is minimal, as the C1 uses existing components in ATG systems.

The company first installed Gogo's in-flight connectivity system as part of its installation and maintenance services in 2017.
