Ampaire celebrates grand opening Long Beach HQ
The facility will not only be the heart of Ampaire’s operations but also a hub for innovation where it will continue to develop and deploy cutting-edge electric aircraft technologies.
Ampaire CEO Kevin Noertker cuts the ribbon on the opening of Ampaire's HQ.

Having announced the relocation of its headquarters at the beginning of July, Ampaire has now celebrated the grand opening at Long Beach airport in California with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The ceremony featured remarks from prominent leaders in aviation and government, including CEO Kevin Noertker; Long Beach mayor Rex Richardson; Department of Energy ARPA-E programme director Evelyn Wang; FAA deputy administrator Raquel Girvin; investment firm DiamondStream managing director Dean Donovan; and Christina Angelides, managing director, policy at Elemental Excelerator. It was open to the public and attendees included media representatives, industry professionals and local community members.

The new headquarters will support Ampaire's growing team and expanded research and development initiatives. It will also serve as a base for collaboration with key partners and stakeholders in the aviation and clean energy sectors.

“We are thrilled to have opened our new headquarters at Long Beach airport,” says Noertker. “This facility will not only be the heart of our operations but also a hub for innovation, where we will continue to develop and deploy cutting-edge electric aircraft technologies. Our new location strengthens our commitment to sustainability and our mission to lead the aviation industry into a new era of eco-friendly flight.”

Ampaire's move underscores its dedication to fostering local economic growth and community engagement. The company is poised to contribute significantly to the region's aerospace ecosystem, creating new jobs and advancing technological advancements that benefit both the environment and the economy.

“We are excited to welcome Ampaire to Long Beach. Its presence at our airport is a testament to Long Beach's status as a leading center for aviation innovation and clean technology,” says Richardson. “Ampaire's pioneering work in electric aviation aligns perfectly with our city's commitment to sustainability and economic development.”

Dr Wang adds: “Ampaire's journey to the facility at Long Beach airport is a testament to the power of innovation and collaboration. At ARPA-E, we are proud to support pioneers like Ampaire, whose groundbreaking work in hybrid-electric aviation is reshaping the future of flight.”

“The opening of Ampaire's new headquarters is another important milestone on its journey to transforming the aviation industry,” adds Angelides. “Its aircraft systems not only reduce emissions, but they also reduce pollution and noise in surrounding neighbourhoods impacted by airports. As a proud investor in the company, we are excited about the scale of Ampaire's solution and the deep local impact the team can deliver.”
