DJL evolves with Dunhill
Now known as Dunhill Aviation Engineering, the Part 145 has moved to London Southend airport from its former Norwich base, where it boasts a hangar, with slots, for checks and inspections.

Following its merger with based DJL Aerospace, Dunhill Aviation is now headquartered at London Southend airport. The company can accommodate an increasing number of aircraft in its expansive and secure hangar, which spans 31,000 square feet.

The newly formed team boasts over 100 years of combined experience specialising in base, line and AOG maintenance. The facility is equipped to provide competitive maintenance support packages alongside various short and long-term parking solutions, available both inside the hangar and on the apron. Additionally, Dunhill has partnered with the London Southend Jet Centre FBO for all arrivals and departures.

Managing partner Leigh Saunders says: “The integration of DJL and Dunhill Aviation has significantly increased our capacity to expand our service offerings within the aviation industry. We are settling into our new location at Southend and have already welcomed several new clients. I am delighted with the positive feedback we have received regarding our enhanced services.”

Dunhill Aviation's entry into the London market has notably improved the availability of sought-after parking options within the city. Given that the current demand for parking exceeds supply, Dunhill's competitive rates are attracting customers. The airport features a 6,089ft runway with ILS Cat 1 capability, accommodating aircraft as large as the A320 or 737-MAX.

Its new operational base provides a swift 12 minute helicopter commute to central London as well as various direct transport links to the capital. The airport also supports round-the-clock take off and landing operations, making it an optimal choice for operations that may face restrictions at other London airports. This location is particularly advantageous for travellers from the East, allowing them to bypass London airspace and potential delays. Furthermore, the availability of on-site hotel accommodations for crew members enhances the airport’s appeal.

In addition to parking and maintenance services, Dunhill Aviation coordinates international charters, aircraft sales and acquisitions, parts supply chain management and aircraft decommissioning.
