Zela Jet tackles jet slot congestion in Greece
Zela Jet, Fly 7 and CaptainJet are addressing the challenge of securing slots for private jets on Greek islands during the high traffic summer months with helicopter transfers.

Zela Jet, Fly 7 and CaptainJet have joined forces to offer board-to-board services at Athens International airport, to mitigate the challenges posed by congested airport traffic on the Greek islands during the summer.

Securing landing slots for larger private aircraft on popular Greek islands during peak travel seasons has always been challenging. Utilising Zela Jet’s helicopter services guarantees seamless transfers from the mainland, and the company oversees the entire process.

Clients flying in to Athens airport on Switzerland-based Fly 7’s PC-12 and PC-24 fleet, or sister company CaptainJet’s network of various sized jets, will transfer onwards to the Greek islands by helicopter.

As one of the largest Pilatus operators in Europe, Fly 7 is offering clients access to its Pilatus fleet at preferential rates through Zela Jet.

This is not the first time the companies have worked together. In the summer of 2023, Fly 7 operated a brand new PC-12 NGX through the southeastern Mediterranean, ably supported by Zela Jet on the marketing front. The PC-12 does not require a long runway, which gives it the ability to land at almost all of the airports in the Greek islands that are inaccessible to larger private aircraft.

In November last year things went the other way; Fly 7 picked up passengers for winter charters from Greece and flew them to destinations in Switzerland, Austria and France for trips marketed by Zela Jet.
