North American FBO network Modern Aviation has closed the acquisition of American Aero, which operates at Fort Worth Meacham International airport in Texas, from an affiliate of Keystone Group.

American Aero, the first FBO to earn a Stage 3 IS-BAH safety and ground handling certificate, operates on a 31 acre FBO campus with 247,000sq ft of hangar and office space, and the largest open ramp on the field of more than 11 acres. Its 8,600sq ft terminal was designed to maximise safety, efficiency and comfort for flight crews and passengers. For the last six years, it has been ranked in the annual Aviation International News FBO survey as one of the best FBOs in the world and the best FBO in Texas and the South-Central Region.

Modern Aviation CEO Mark Carmen says: "We are thrilled to have officially expanded our footprint to the high growth DFW area. On behalf of Modern Aviation, I'd like to extend a warm welcome to our new team members and customers at this location. We look forward to continuing American Aero's dedication to providing world-class customer service and safety."

All the employees of American Aero have joined Modern Aviation.

Modern Aviation now operates 17 FBOs in the US and Puerto Rico.
