Lithuanian operator KlasJet has added a Boeing 737-800 NG to its fleet for ACMI work. The company is optimistic for the summer ahead, as CEO Justinas Bulka explains: “We have two business lines – charter and ACMI. Both are growing and there is big demand. We feel this summer should be very promising and very bright. We recently added a Boeing 737-800 and it concerns our plans to grow, even in a dry market at the moment, as it is dedicated to ACMI operations. We have seven next generation aircraft operating right now.”
A lot of events are happening in Europe this summer such as the Olympics and Euro 2024. Several requests are coming now from various federations and national teams. “This summer should be hot,” continues Bulka. “January to April we have been very active in Africa and the Middle East, and we have two VIP aircraft based in Dubai and Saudi Arabia. Between 50 and 70 per cent of our revenue came from the Middle East region during this time, the first four months of 2024. We have been using BBJ aircraft for this purpose. Individuals are travelling lots and this is on the increase. We plan to add one BBJ to our fleet at the end of summer.
“We are very proud of our ACMI and VIP segments. We provide exceptional services and we are investing in our crew and catering. Safety is very important to us. Our parent company Avia Solutions Group helps us carry out maintenance and prepare pilots in their academy.
“It’s not so easy to find new aircraft to add to our fleet but we are looking to have 50 aircraft and to grow all segments, from the current five up to 10 on VIP and from seven up to 40 on ACMI. I think aviation is a good business and will continue to be so.”
