Omni marks first year of Guyana ops
Omni celebrates one year of operations in Guyana having transported more than 50,000 passengers. Its overriding mission is to support development of the Guyanese aviation industry using local talent.
Omni Helicopters Guyana is a strategic collaboration between Omni Helicopters International and indigenous operator Roraima Airways.

In just one year of operations, Omni Helicopters Guyana, a strategic collaboration between Omni Helicopters International and indigenous operator Roraima Airways, has safely transported more than 50,000 passengers on an average of 200 flights per month. Operating from Eugene F Correia International airport in Georgetown with a fleet of six modern helicopters, the company has grown its workforce to over 80 staff, the majority being talented Guyanese nationals. It recently selected and is training a team of six Guyanese nationals to serve as rear crew, supporting mission requirements for its established offshore and onshore search and rescue service.

To mark this first year, Omni hosted a celebratory event at ExxonMobil Guyana's passenger terminal and hangar facilities, during which the management was honoured to receive recognition as ExxonMobil Guyana supplier of the year for 2023.

Duncan Moore, executive vice president, International offshore and onshore, and group COO at Omni Helicopters International, says: "We extend our thanks to our clients, partners and the entire Omni team for their dedication and support. As we commemorate our first anniversary, we take great pride in the achievements and milestones that have been accomplished this year. Most notably, we're very proud of our national team who are delivering exceptional service levels despite, in many cases, this being their first job in aviation. We are committed to supporting the continued growth of the aviation sector in Guyana, aligning with OHI's purpose to deliver exceptional customer outcomes."

Beyond its strong performance in the local market, Omni maintains a commitment to community engagement. Throughout its inaugural year, the company actively participated in various social initiatives including scholarship programmes and on the job training for students at the Art Williams & Harry Wendt Aeronautical Engineering School.
