OH Bay gets UAM Operation Demonstration Center
The UAM Center is home to facilities such as a bespoke eVTOL vertiport for the EH216-S, hangars, a command-and-control center, passenger waiting area, service center and various other essential amenities.
EHang's EH216-S takes off from the vertiport at the UAM Center.

EHang is to open a UAM Operation Demonstration Center at OH Bay, a landmark in the Bao'an district in Shenzhen, China.

Following EHang's strategic partnership with the Shenzhen Bao'an District Government in July 2023, the UAM Center has been built by Bao'an Transportation Group. It covers a total area of approximately 4,600sqm, and hosts a comprehensive set of facilities including a bespoke eVTOL vertiport for the EH216-S, hangars, a command-and-control centre, passenger waiting area, a service centre and various expended essential amenities.

At a launch event, the EH216-S successfully completed a demo flight over OH Bay in front of local government officials, regulators, enterprise representatives and citizens.

CEO Xin Fang says: "We are thrilled that, with the support of the government, our customer and partner, our collaboration has led to significant progress in Bao'an, which includes the successful launch of the first UAM Operation Demonstration Center in Shenzhen. UAM operations and services make up an elaborate system that requires comprehensive preparatory groundwork. With our extensive experience in trial operations, EHang is poised to take the lead in developing operational benchmarks for UAM. This will further drive the growth of the low-altitude economy industry in Shenzhen as well as in the Greater Bay Area."

Meanwhile, the Bao'an Transportation Group will continue to work with EHang to establish a Low-Altitude Economy Industry Public Service Center, an Unmanned Aerial System Application Test Base and a Low-Altitude Industrial Park.

Furthermore, Shenzhen Boling Holding Group, which has purchased five EH216-S aircraft from EHang and plans to purchase an additional 95 units in the future, recently established the subsidiary Shenzhen Pengcheng Wings General Aviation Co, a joint venture with EHang to operate low-altitude UAM operations.
