Denmark and UK helicopter operator Uni-Fly has signed lease agreements for three Leonardo AW169 helicopters with Milestone Aviation Group.

The agreements include the extension of two AW169 helicopters and the placement of an additional AW169, scheduled to be delivered in late 2023. The aircraft will be located at its main UK operating base at Humberside airport and will support offshore energy missions in the North Sea.

CEO Mads Nielsen says: “In total, Uni-Fly has placed four AW169 4.8 tonne aircraft with Milestone since 2018, which is a sign of the confidence in our relationship and in Leonardo’s AW169 product. The introduction of the Enhanced Power Configuration creates an ideal platform for safe hoist operations and great customer hoist payload. We look forward to welcoming the new addition to our fleet and our continued collaboration with Milestone.”

Sebastien Moulin, head of Europe and Americas at Milestone, adds: “We are delighted to expand our relationship with Uni-Fly with the placement and extension of these three AW169 helicopters. We are seeing strong demand for light twin helicopters in the renewable energy sector, and the AW169 is well-suited to supporting offshore wind projects thanks to its advanced operating capabilities in challenging environmental conditions.”
