Skyport opens hangar at Tampa Executive
Skyport Aviation's hangar at Tampa Executive airport is now ready and open for leasing. The $1.9m project gives clients an extra 12,000sq ft of storage space.
Officials from the Hillsborough County Aviation Authority, Tampa International airport and Skyport Aviation celebrate the grand opening of the new hangar.

Officials from the Hillsborough County Aviation Authority and Tampa International airport have been celebrating the grand opening of Skyport Aviation's hangar at Tampa Executive airport (VDF) in Florida.

The $1.9 million structure adds 12,000 square feet of aircraft storage for Skyport clients. The hangar was built to the northeast of the main building, just a short walk away from the FBO's lobby.

With more than 290 aircraft based at Tampa Executive, hangar space was at capacity. This was behind the new project which took six months to complete, and included an additional 12,000 square feet of apron. It is the first private development at the airport in nearly 20 years.

“It's really great to get the hangar open because I know there were a lot of people who worked very hard to bring this together,” says Brett Fay, director of general aviation for the Hillsborough County Aviation Authority, the operator of Tampa's executive and international airports. “It's outstanding to see this kind of investment and we're really excited about what this means for the future of VDF and Skyport.”

Skyport's space can accommodate a wide range of aircraft and includes access to the latest maintenance facilities.
