SPAES fits radar altimeter on MD 902
The radar altimeter indicator, installed on an MD 902 by SPAES, is a crucial part of any modern avionics system, providing pilots with accurate and reliable altitude information during approaches and landings.
The installation was carried out in the customer's own Part 145 maintenance facility.

SPAES, a German Part 21J Design Organisation, Part 21G Manufacturing Organisation and provider of avionics solutions, has installed a radar altimeter indicator on an MD 902 for a customer.

The radar altimeter indicator provides pilots with accurate and reliable altitude information during approaches and landings. The installation was completed in accordance with all relevant regulatory requirements and industry best practices, which means the aircraft now features the latest avionics technology to improve safety and efficiency.

For design and certification, a minor change was carried out by SPAES in consultation with the customer and the EASA Part 21J Design Organisation. After completing the installation tests, the documentation was completed and the minor change of the installation was granted. The installation was carried out in the customer's own Part 145 maintenance facility.

“We pride ourselves on delivering world-class avionics solutions that increase the safety and efficiency of our customers' aircraft,” states Joachim Schanz, CEO of SPAES. “We are grateful to our customer for entrusting us with this project, and we look forward to continuing to serve its needs in the future.”
