Jet Aviation has added a BBJ2 into its fleet, the first of its kind on the operator's AOC. “We are delighted to operate the first BBJ2 available to the Part 135 charter market,” states Victoria Reina-Duffy, charter sales director. “This exemplary aircraft is VVIP configured and provides customers the utmost experience in comfort and style. Amenities include wi-fi, a fully enclosed stateroom with a full bathroom and shower, a minimum of two cabin attendants, and it can carry up to 17 passengers. This really is a charter experience unlike anything in the market.”

The addition of this Boeing Business Jet was a team effort. With such a large aircraft, it was a more challenging task to get it onto the company's Part 135 certificate. The conformity team, flight services team and marketing team came together and successfully achieved wheels up prior to the conclusion of 2022.

“We worked with Basel to complete a pre-buy inspection on a Bermuda registered BBJ2,” says Taylor Burns, senior conformity project manager. “We generated the gameplan for USA import as well as work scope for FAA Part 135 commercial operations. Conformity required validation of over 150 airworthiness directives, as well as 75 modifications. We also worked with our local FAA office to review an aircraft model type they were not familiar with, eventually placing the aircraft on the Part 135 certificate.”
