US MRO specialist West Star Aviation's avionics technical sales manager Mike Sichmeller at St Louis in East Alton, Illinois, has been nominated by a committee of industry peers for the Aircraft Electronics Association (AEA) Member of the Year Award.

AEA has selected five nominees this year, and the winner will be announced at its annual convention in April. The annual award has been granted every year since 1964. The nominees for the AEA Member of the Year are individuals from a regular member company approved maintenance organisation, who are being recognised for their service and participation in the general aviation industry and in the association.

Mike Sichmeller has over 40 years of aviation experience with a career that started in the USAF as an avionics tech and has continued into corporate and civil aviation with various positions including, avionics technician, systems engineer, project manager, production manager, service centre planner/contract manager, sales engineer and sales manager.

“I am truly honoured to be nominated by the AEA committee and look forward to the announcement at the annual conference and wish the best to the other nominees,” he says.
