Quarter sees 40 per cent increase in SpeedBird fleet
Continuing its aggressive fleet growth, SpeedBird adds four Cessna CJ3/3+s and branches out into a Challenger 605 offering.
Four Cessna CJ3/3+s are added to the SpeedBird fleet, along with two Challenger 605s.

Orlando, Florida-based Part 135 operator SpeedBird has acquired six aircraft, two of which bring a new type to SpeedBird’s offering. Two Bombardier Challenger 605s and four Cessna CJ3/3+s have been added to the fleet; a milestone move for the company that was established as a division of The HeliTeam only in May last year.

“The prestigious Challenger 605 was an inevitable addition to our fleet,” says SpeedBird CEO Christopher Bull. “Our customers have high expectations and we intend to deliver aircraft with quality unmatched by anyone in our space.”

This news comes in the wake of the addition of 50 local jobs last year plus contractual maintenance relationships with Textron Aviation at its nearby Orlando International aIrport service centre. The company plans to continue fleet growth at the current pace through to at least 2025, and will focus on hiring pilot, cabin attendant and office staff to support this growing fleet.
