Wyvern welcomes Pentastar Aviation as Wingman operator
Pentastar is setting the standard for its customers and employees when it comes to safety with designation as Wingman operator through the Wyvern Flight Leader programme.
The Michigan-headquartered company is now a Wingman operator.

Oakland County International airport-based Part 135 operator Pentastar Aviation Charter has secured its designation as a Wyvern Wingman certified operator through the Flight Leader Programme with quarterly collaboration with a Wyvern Flight Leader coach.

“Achieving Wingman status through the Wyvern Flight Leader Programme is another important milestone in our quest to set the standard for our customers and employees when it comes to safety," says president and CEO Greg Schmidt. "Our partnership with Wyvern is a critical element of the journey that helps define our processes and, more importantly, our culture.”

The Wyvern Wingman standard, the first air charter audit standard in the aviation industry, provides a safety benchmark that allows air charter customers to assess performance expectations against recognised industry best operating practices before purchasing air charter services.

Wyvern Wingman operators are evaluated by the Wingman standard criteria. The scope of the evaluation includes an assessment of operational activities, review on the company operational history and safety records, safety management system (SMS), internal evaluation programme, administrative compositions, technical documentation, pilot and aircraft records, training requirements, and maintenance operations including technician training and experience.

“Pentastar Aviation's certification as a Wyvern Wingman operator sets it apart from other operators in the air charter industry. This achievement validates its commitment to attaining and maintaining an enduring safety culture that elevates its performance above other operators who are just beginning to embrace the value of formal safety risk management,” says Wyvern CEO Sonnie Bates.
