Duncan achieves quality management certifications
Duncan Aviation's manufacturing division has attained new certifications which open the doors to further support OEM partners; it is one more resource to put quality parts on the shelves to support aircraft.
A new ASC Autoclave provides a 6 by 15 ft working envelope for composite work.

Duncan Aviation's manufacturing division, Duncan Manufacturing Solutions (DMS), has earned AS 9100D and ISO 9001:2015 certification. This is the international standard for quality management systems for aviation manufacturing organisations. It dictates system requirements with the challenges of the aviation industry in mind and is required for government and aviation parts manufacturing support contracts.

The scope of the DMS certification is the manufacturing services of sheet metal, composite and precision-machined components as well as special processes of welding, heat treating, finishing and top coating of assemblies for commercial, industrial and aerospace industries as guided through customer-provided purchase order requirements.

“This certification opens the doors to further support our OEM partners,” says manufacturing solutions manager Scott Stenka. “Our certification is one more resource for them to put quality parts on their shelves to support their aircraft.”

Executive manager OEM strategic initiative Gary Strapp adds that Duncan Manufacturing Solutions is in a great position to assist industry partners: “By supporting the OEMs, we are helping them support their customers. This keeps their customers happy and more likely to purchase new aircraft with them when it comes time.”

DMS will now begin steps to achieve the NADCAP (National Aerospace and Defense Contractors Accreditation Programme). This technical certification applies to quality standards and procedures for special processes such as heat treating, welding, and composites.
