Universal welcomes RAF Northolt's new weekend hours
The Royal Air Force will extend operating hours at London RAF Northolt airport to seven days a week starting June, making it accessible on weekends for the first time in five years.
RAF Northolt airport will be open seven days a week from June.

London's Royal Air Force Northolt airport will officially be open for weekend operations starting 1 June, 2022. The airport will now be open seven days a week from 0800-2000 local Monday through Friday, 0800-1500 on Saturdays and 1200-1900 on Sundays.

“Leading up to Northolt's new weekend hours, we've seen tremendous interest from operators who under-utilised the airport previously because of the lack of accessibility,” says Universal Aviation regional managing director Sean Raftery. “Limited hours are the only thing that have held Northolt back from being one of the London area's most popular business aviation airports. Since we took over operation of Northolt in 2021, this is the second time we've worked with the RAF to extend the airport's hours.”

Northolt airport is close to Central London and its cultural activities, only a 25 minute drive to Hyde Park Corner. It is not too far from stadiums that host international sporting events such as Wembley (14 km), Twickenham (18 km), Wimbledon (25 km), Emirates Stadium (27 km) and Tottenham (30 km). It is the closest airport to Heathrow for connections with commercial flights, yet it is not congested and passengers are using the same airport as used by the Royal Family.

Northolt has more built in geographic advantages than just about any other London-area airport,” adds Raftery. “In addition to its great location, passengers really like its exclusivity, privacy and security. We believe Northolt's potential is unlimited.”
