The Argentine province of Córdoba has recently received its first H145. The twin engine helicopter will be primarily engaged in firefighting, search and rescue, and humanitarian aid missions. The purchase is part of an ongoing fleet growth programme and the helicopter will join the two H125s and one H135 it currently operates.

“The Airbus H145 is perfect for all our purposes, especially for firefighting missions due to its speed and performance,” says Gabriel Marcellini, general director of aeronautics of the Province of Córdoba. “Forest fires are getting bigger, faster and more difficult to control in our area, so this new helicopter will be an essential tool. We are sure of our choice, we thank Airbus for its support and we look forward to starting operations with this new helicopter.”

Designed to deliver excellent performance throughout the envelope of flight, the H145 has mission capability and great flexibility, especially in hot and elevated operating conditions. It is capable of taking off and landing at 20,000 ft, a distinction confirmed in September 2019 with a flight over Aconcagua in the Andes mountain range in Argentina, at 22,840 ft the highest mountain in the southern hemisphere. There the H145 demonstrated its incomparable power reserve at high altitude.

“The Argentine province of Córdoba has been an Airbus customer for a long time, and we thank it for the trust it has placed in our helicopters. We are confident that this aircraft will meet the requirements of our customers,” says Airbus Helicopters Cono Sur general manager Jérôme Ronssin. “Thanks to its enhanced safety, reduced maintenance and excellent availability, the multi-role H145 is the ideal aircraft for a large number of tasks.”
