Helicopter expert SkyPoland adds HondaJet to fleet
SkyPoland is branching out of purely helicopter flights now that a HondaJet owner has made his aircraft available to charter customers. Currently based in Warsaw, the jet will be moved to Italy for the summer.

Helicopter operator SkyPoland, the third oldest aviation company in Poland, has recently added a HondaJet to its fleet. It is certified on SkyPoland's AOC and based, for the moment, at Warsaw Chopin airport.

Sky Poland Aviation operates business, sightseeing and humanitarian flights, and its helicopters are regularly rented by television stations for special missions.

“But after 15 years it was time for a change,” says chief of HondaJet operations Agnieszka Klusiewicz. So to mark the 55th birthday of president Robert Kisiel the company took delivery of the Honda Jet, its first aircraft. The goal is to provide fast response, maximum available and flight economy. “Our operational plan is to be ready to fly within one hour from confirmed request,” she says.

The company bought the 2018 production aircraft in July last year, and has spent time making enhancements not found on other models, paying attention both to the finishes in the cabin and the comfort of the passengers. Those customers are mainly business customers, CEOs with families. They like the high tech jet with its comfortable cabin and low noise levels. And it is more environmentally friendly than some other makes; it is made entirely of composite materials to reduce weight, and kerosene consumption is five per cent lower than that of current competitors.

SkyPoland also claims to be the first company in Europe to provide a flight attendant on board. “There are people who are afraid to fly, but they want to send their children somewhere, so this is a good solution for them,” says Klusiewicz.

“We want the HondaJet to perform flights in Europe but not only with Polish clients. Initially the aircraft owner was going to use it solely for himself, but he has now given us permission to perform more commercial operations."

Once the owner moves to Sardinia for the summer, the HondaJet will be moved to a base in Olbia Costa Smerelda airport in Italy.

If all goes well, this won’t be the last HondaJet that SkyPoland welcomes to its fleet. “We have had a lot of interest in the HondaJet, hence the idea to buy another plane,” adds Klusiewicz. “We would like to enrich our offering with another Honda straight from the factory, and then the fleet will grow. These are really very technologically advanced planes. Our passengers love ours.”
