Portugal-headquartered Omni Helicopters International (OHI) has signed 11 lease agreements with Milestone Aviation Group. Omni operates a fleet of aircraft in the oil and gas and emergency medical transportation sectors through Brazilian operator Omni Taxi Aereo.

The deal comprises Leonardo AW139s, recently delivered to OHI, and Sikorsky S92s that are already in operation and will continue to support multi-year customer contracts.

OHI Group CEO Jeremy Akel says: “Milestone is a strong and reliable partner. Its teams' market insights, creativity and responsiveness are complementary to ours and we work very well together. We are deeply appreciative of its support that has enabled our consistent growth, which started when we leased the first helicopter from it in 2010.”

The delivery of the AW139s marks the first of the type to go on lease to OHI from Milestone, and these will be deployed on critical missions across Latin American and African operations.

Milestone president and CEO Pat Sheedy adds: “Omni was Milestone's very first customer, and we are incredibly proud to extend that partnership, which has spanned more than a decade. We are delighted to continue to support the diversification of its fleet and the growth of its operations across Latin America and Africa.”

Omni's long-standing relationship with Milestone now totals 22 aircraft comprising four different fleet types.
