Signature introduces permanent SAF supply at Van Nuys
Growing a SAF supply chain is a priority for Signature, so adding Van Nuys airport to its Renew offerings strengthens the goal of providing low carbon jet fuel. And the timing was perfect for Super Bowl flights.
Senior vice president, operations planning Marty Kretchman.

Private aviation terminal operator Signature Aviation is now offering a new permanent supply of SAF at Van Nuys airport in California. The arrival of the first two 8,000-gallon fuel shipments corresponds to American football's season finale Super Bowl weekend in Los Angeles. Signature Van Nuys is now the 10th location within the global network to offer a permanent source of SAF for retail purchase; there are seven North American and three European locations.

“Signature has made growing our SAF supply chain a priority, and our addition of Van Nuys airport to Signature Renew's offerings further strengthens our goal of providing low carbon jet fuel to the private aviation industry,” says senior vice president, operations planning Marty Kretchman. “The addition of Los Angeles is timed perfectly for football's biggest game, and we're excited to add the gallons uplifted at Van Nuys to our total SAF count, which already totals over five million gallons pumped."

Signature Aviation's SAF is supplied through its Signature Renew programme and uses a 30/70 blend of tallow-based feedstock, which results in a 25 per cent reduction in carbon intensity of the delivered fuel. Operators can now either procure an uplift of physical SAF at Van Nuys airport or alternatively tap into Signature's carbon reduction inventory for any flight at any airport.
