Alidaunia achieves IS-BAO Stage III registration
Italian helicopter operator Alidaunia and its training division have both achieved IS-BAO Stage III registration. It shows how the voluntary standard can be integrated across an operation as part of the safety culture.
Alidaunia has achieved IS-BAO Stage III registration for its helicopter operations and training.

The helicopter operations and training divisions of Foggia, Italy-headquartered Alidaunia have both reached Stage III registration for the International Standard for Business Aircraft Operations (IS-BAO), a voluntary code of best practices designed to help fixed and rotor flight operations achieve high levels of safety and professionalism. The Stage III level verifies that safety management activities are fully integrated into the operator's business and that a positive safety culture is being sustained.

“We are very excited to have reached this level in both our operation and our training organisation. It is truly a testament to our team's commitment to safety and to a strong safety culture for our operation,” says flight operations manager Vincenzo Pucillo. “We are proud to advance our business to IS-BAO Stage III and share this achievement of professionalism with our clients and colleagues.”

Alidaunia operates both rotor and fixed wing aircraft for emergency medical services (EMS) and air ambulance, line scheduled flights, oil and gas, and civil protection services contracted by several public administrations in different regions of Italy and abroad. Alidaunia is also a Leonardo Helicopters Excellent Service Centre and Designated Engine Maintenance Facility for Pratt & Whitney.

“The entire Alidaunia organisation should be very proud of this Stage III achievement,” adds director of IS-BAO Andrew Karas. “Alidaunia is an impressive example of how IS-BAO, a voluntary standard, can be integrated across the operation and become a part of the safety culture.”
