CHI Aviation gets with the ASAP program
Membership in HAI has opened up a route for helicopter operator CHI Aviation's participation in the ACSF's aviation safety action programme, through which members can identify and reduce flight safety concerns.
CHI Aviation joins the ACSF's aviation safety action programme.

Howell, Michigan-based CHI Aviation has become a participating rotor wing company in the Air Charter Safety Foundation (ACSF) Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP). CHI Aviation's ASAP participation is a direct benefit of its membership in Helicopter Association International (HAI), an organisation that provides support and safety-related services for the international helicopter community.

“We're very pleased to add ACSF to our current toolbox of safety processes,” says CHI director of operations Jim Wilkerson. “Helicopter Association International, of which we're members, is partnering with the ACFS to encourage more cost-effective, voluntary reporting of safety issues, and we couldn't be happier about it. It's an initiative that enables us and other members to promptly identify, report and resolve potential safety hazards without any fear of reprisal, and that's a welcome opportunity.”

The ASAP is a voluntary, self-reporting programme that enables ACSF member companies to identify and reduce possible flight safety concerns, as well as to mitigate risk.

ACSF president Bryan Burns is delighted to welcome HAI members' access to the Aviation Safety Action Program. He adds: “The bottom line is that this benefit of HAI membership, letting rotor wing aircraft participate in the ASAP, is helping us further our mission of enhancing aviation safety through the prevention of accidents and incidents. And that's really what matters most to us.”
