Bright future for Sun Air Jets at Van Nuys
Sun Air Jets was assisted in acquiring additional hangar and terminal space at Van Nuys by the Aeroplex Group Partners, which secured the entitlements and managed the project development and will oversee the site.
The facility meets the state's strict environmental green build standards and will include a solar roof top system that will assist the Los Angeles World Airports' environmentally sustainable energy programme.

Camarillo, California-headquartered Sun Air Jets has extended its hangar footprint at Van Nuys airport. The company has secured two new hangar and terminal facilities located in the northwest corner of the airport, providing an additional 62,000 sq ft of space.

This addition will more than double the size of Sun Air Jets' presence at Van Nuys and allow it to better serve clients looking for secure and private hangar and terminal space in the greater Los Angeles area. Designed to offer a superior level of luxury and sophistication, the new facility also offers private offices, lounges, conference meeting rooms, gated guest parking and numerous other amenities necessary to meet today's evolving business aviation needs.

The facility also meets the state's strict environmental green build standards and will include a solar roof top system that will assist the Los Angeles World Airports' environmentally sustainable energy programme.

Sun Air Jets was assisted in acquiring the space by the Aeroplex Group Partners, which secured the entitlements and managed the project development and will oversee this new location together with Sun Air Jets' existing hangars at Van Nuys.

Sun Air Jets president and CEO Brian Counsil states: “This collaborative relationship ensures adequate space for our managed aircraft customers at the City of Los Angeles' world class and most desirable airport in southern California for the foreseeable future. By managing over 100,000 sq ft of Van Nuys hangar space on a long-term basis, Sun Air Jets can strategically manage its future business growth and offer customers a home for their aircraft that meets the highest standards of safety and luxury.”

“This is a significant tactical and strategic milestone for Sun Air Jets,” adds Curt Castagna, Aeroplex Group's managing partner “It's an amazing new facility that brings new investment and jobs to the San Fernando Valley, and we are excited that our decision to commit to a long-term vision for airport development projects nationally has proven correct at Van Nuys Airport. It's a pleasure for us to work with an industry partner that is focused on the future value of business aviation while being so successful in the present.”

The additional hangar and terminal facility will be available for managed aircraft clients and tenants starting June 2021.
