Planet Nine Private Air has been selected as a recipient of the 2025 Van Nuys airport Friendly Flyer Award. Presented by Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) and Van Nuys airport management, this recognition highlights the US aircraft charter and management company's ongoing dedication to operational excellence, environmental responsibility and strong community relations.
The Van Nuys airport Friendly Flyer programme is a cornerstone initiative designed to foster harmonious coexistence between general aviation operators and the surrounding local communities. Van Nuys, one of the busiest business aviation airports in the US, places a high priority on noise abatement, sustainable operating procedures and minimising the footprint of flight operations on local neighbourhoods.
The annual Friendly Flyer Award is bestowed upon operators who consistently demonstrate exemplary compliance and proactive commitment to VNY's noise management and fly-friendly guidelines. Award recipients are selected based on their adherence to recommended noise abatement procedures, community-conscious pilot practices and a demonstrated cooperative spirit with airport noise officers and management. By recognising these operators, LAWA and VNY highlight industry leaders that set the standard for responsible, neighbourly business aviation.
“We are deeply honoured to receive the 2025 VNY Friendly Flyer Award,” comments Mike Lewis, director of aircraft management at Planet Nine. “This recognition reflects the daily dedication of our flight crews, dispatchers and management team who prioritise responsible flying and close collaboration with Van Nuys Airport. We share this achievement with our community partners and remain steadfast in our commitment to being model corporate citizens in aviation.”
Headquartered at Van Nuys airport in California, Planet Nine Private Air is a private aircraft charter and jet management company, specialising in ultra-long-range business jets, including Gulfstream, Bombardier and Dassault Falcon aircraft, using a global floating fleet model.
