Primus Elite Enhanced Features approved for Learjet 40 and 45
Operators can now upgrade their fleets with the latest cockpit technology while saving thousands of dollars per year on operating costs, thanks to FAA STC for enhanced Primus Elite on Learjet 40 and 45.

Honeywell has received a supplemental type certificate from the FAA to upgrade Bombardier's Learjet 40 and 45 with its Primus Elite Enhanced Features, enabling operators to upgrade their fleets with the latest cockpit technology to increase flight efficiency and safety for pilots and passengers while saving thousands of dollars per year on operating costs.

Honeywell's Primus Elite Enhanced Features is an upgrade for the Honeywell Primus 1000 and 2000 cockpit and replaces the DU-870 cathode ray tube displays with modern DU-875 liquid crystal displays. The DU-875 displays provide exceptional clarity with cleaner fonts and crisper colours for the pilots and generate little to no heat, eliminating the need for cooling fans in the cockpit. The DU-875 display is available for a quick plug-and-play install, which allows for minimal aircraft downtime. It's two times more reliable and weighs seven pounds less per display than the DU-870 cathode ray tubes.

In addition to the DU-875 display replacement, this upgrade offers added capabilities that improve safety and comfort for pilots through increased awareness. Added value includes airport charts for visual awareness on the runway and taxiways, plus approach charts that show the aircraft's position on a graph during approach. It also offers integrated maps for a 2D depiction of flight plans, weather, traffic and geographical boundaries, and incorporates Jeppesen charts to show geo-referenced departures and arrivals. When the DU-875 display is used with XM Weather, pilots can get real-time weather updates along the route and at specific destinations, which is especially valuable when flying into an unfamiliar airport. The upgrade also includes the 3-in-1 cursor control device for easier one-handed scrolling on the displays, allowing pilots to efficiently select charts and maps or download navigation databases.

Beyond the Learjet 40 and 45, Honeywell's Primus Elite Enhanced Features is certified for the Bombardier Global Express, the Dassault Falcon 900EX and 900C, Embraer Legacy 600 and 650, Cessna Citation X and Dornier 328.
