Eagle Cap adds VFR sectionals and IFR enroutes to app
Custom aviation software design company Eagle Cap has responded to customer feedback by launching an upgrade that extends the physical range of its Aero Charting app.

US-based Eagle Cap Software has introduced a new version of its iPad-dedicated software. Aero Charting v1.1 now includes VFR sectionals and IFR enroute charts, and extends coverage to include the Caribbean, Alaska, and Hawaii.

Programme manager Brian Leutschaft says: “These charts are a necessity for the IFR or VFR pilot. When coupled with GPS input, they greatly improve situational awareness.”

User feedback was quickly integrated into the initial product, and Leutschaft continues: “We are pleased to continue the rapid development of our Aero Charting application. It took us just over a month to develop, test and release this latest version and we are excited to bring this offering to market in such a short amount of time.”

Aero Charting is built using Eagle Cap's Aeronautical Charting Service (ACS) and Data Delivery Service (DDS) products. ACS provides the ability for application developers to add aviation data layers to their products. DDS enables data management for mobile applications including transferring, tracking and updating data. Both components are available to license.

Aero Charting is available only on the iPad.
