Lithuanian opreator KlasJet has plans to continue its fleet expansion over 2019 with four more Boeing 737-500s. These will be in addition to the three it purchased last year. Fleet growth is one of the cornerstones of KlasJet's strategic goals this year, and the new aircraft will enable it to further extend its bespoke services and experiences.

“Exceeding customer expectations and providing top-notch services is at the core of our business,” says CEO Dovydas Jurgelevicius. “To succeed we need to focus on our customers' experiences. Their feedback guides us to further tailor our services and our recent expansion is no exception. Insights into potential business opportunities in newly identified segments helped us make the decision to double our fleet size. With these new capabilities our team will be able to provide the best solutions to a wider range of customers around the world.”

KlasJet is oriented to specialist customer segments and groups such as sports clubs, show business, diplomatic flights, VIP flights and MICE. Sport is a particular segment where the team has considerable experience, having chartered for the Olympic games; for World Cup 2018 teams and officials; for English Premier League, Spanish Primera division, Italian Serie A and French League 1 football teams; for the Europa League and Champions League; and for the Lithuanian and other national basketball teams.

Currently KlasJet operates four aircraft: a Hawker 800XP, a CRJ200, a Challenger 850 and a Boeing 737-500. This fleet has proved popular among customers in Europe and the Middle East, and the company is ready to enter a new stage of development.

All three of its recently purchased 737-500s are being prepared for operations later this year. They will be reconfigured to meet the needs of particular customer segments, and each will be customised and individually designed. The first aircraft will have 52 business class seats in exclusive red and black leather trim and will be operational as of the first quarter of 2019. The second will be equipped with an interchangeable interior that will be able to transform from 68 to 102 business class seats to adjust to the differing needs of large VIP groups. This aircraft is already being maintained at the KlasJet hangar in Lithuania and will start operations no later than the second quarter of the year. The third will follow in the second half of 2019 and will have a refined economy interior of 120 seats.

KlasJet has facilitated its fleet expansion and aircraft customisation programme in part through its parent company, Avia Solutions Group. The entry into service of the 737s is being overseen by Avia Solutions Group's sister company AviaAM Leasing, while group subsidiaries Jet Maintenance Solutions and FL Technics are also involved in readying the aircraft for operations.
