Construction begins on San Antonio hangar development
All but one of the seven new hangars under construction at San Antonio International airport are now taken. The development is on the Hawker Beechcraft site on the south side of the airport.
The redevelopment of the 8.87-acre San Antonio site will feature seven hangars ranging in size from 12,000 sq. ft. to over 15,000 sq. ft.

Western LLC, a real estate development and design-build firm specialising in the aviation industry, has broken ground on its latest aviation development at San Antonio International airport. The redevelopment of the 8.87-acre Hawker Beechcraft parcel located off John Cape Road will feature seven hangars totalling 100,280 sq ft ranging in size from 12,000 sq ft to over 15,000, 28 ft tall doors, and over 25,000 sq ft of attached offices. An official groundbreaking ceremony will be held in early 2019.

“This US$25 million, multi-hangar development initiative is the largest single private/corporate capital project in San Antonio International Airport's history. Partnerships like this are not just good news for San Antonio International airport but for all of San Antonio as the economic impact will be substantial for the entire region,” says Russ Handy, aviation director for the City of San Antonio.

According to Alex Langlinais, client executive at Western LLC who is overseeing the day-to-day operations of this project: “This is our first major project with the airport and we look forward to serving the people of San Antonio.”

Western is designing, building, financing and leasing back the facilities to independent corporate clients. Only one unit remains available.
