Vienna to benefit from expanded hangarage
By the time construction of Hangars 8 and 9 is completed, Vienna airport will be able to offer one of the largest general aviation facilities in Europe. Each hangar could accommodate a Bombardier Global.
The start of construction work was marked by a ground-breaking ceremony attended by representatives from Flughafen Wien, Vienna Aircraft Handling and the construction project management team.

Flughafen Wien, the operator of Vienna airport, is building two new general aviation hangars on behalf of its FBO subsidiary Vienna Aircraft Handling (VAH). Work is scheduled to be completed by autumn 2019.

Hangar 8 should be finished by next summer, while Hangar 9 is expected to commence operations a few months later. VAH will then boast four large hangars with a total area of about 16,000 sqm. As a consequence, the general aviation site at Vienna airport will, Flughafen Wien says, rank among the top ten business aviation airports in Europe.

The start of construction work was recently commemorated by a ground-breaking ceremony attended by Flughafen Wien management board members Julian Jäger and Günther Ofner, VAH MDs Michael Zach and Joubin Pour, and the airport's project management team.

The new hangars will have a footprint of 55 metres by 65 metres with an entrance height of 10 metres and will be able to house aircraft up to Bombardier Global size.
