Duncan Aviation's STC specialists pass two-year milestone
Hundreds of years of combined experience means the engineering and certification team at Duncan is able to ensure timely project completions. It already has 16 new and amended STCs under its belt.

US-headquartered Duncan Aviation's programme to make its engineering and certification services available for projects throughout the aerospace industry is nearly two years old. The engineering and certification services team has completed 16 new and amended Supplemental Type Certificates (STC) for customers, with two additional projects in progress and more than a dozen new proposals in the initial stages.

Engineering and certification business development manager Shawn Carraher says: “Our new team was Duncan Aviation's response to the significant increase in demand we've seen throughout the industry for qualified engineering and certification professionals. Duncan Aviation is an Organisation Designation Authorisation (ODA), and working with our teams of experts and our partners around the world, this team has exceeded expectations from the start. Demand for our services is steady and we continue to seek out new partnerships to support the needs of the aviation community.”

Throughout its 62-year history the company has been a leading service provider supporting the aviation community, and over the past 35 years its engineering and certification services team members have worked on aircraft systems and structures modifications projects and approved design changes for interiors/airframe modifications, system installations and upgrades with an exemplary record of safety and compliance.

“Since 1995, we have been able to act on behalf of the FAA through our Designated Alteration Station and since 2011 through our ODA. This allows us to certify Major Repairs and Alterations, Parts Manufacturer Approval and STC projects,” adds certification coordinator Aaron Lane. “Our performance and the trust that we have with the FAA allows us to undertake and complete all kinds of diverse and oftentimes complicated projects. Duncan Aviation has the authority, experience and resources to offer this certification authority to just about anyone in the industry. We look forward to offering our assistance and leadership to anyone who needs an ally in the world of certification.”
