Biggin Hill enhances fire and rescue services

London Biggin Hill airport has upgraded its rescue and fire fighting services to RFFS Category 6 by introducing a third airport rescue and firefighting service watch. Previously, customers had to pre-book and pay for the service, but now it will be available at no additional charge and on immediate demand.

Marketing manager Andy Patsalides says: "Over the past 12 months, we've seen a significant acceleration in the growth of long-range and ultra-long-range jet movements, as customers from further afield choose us as a swift route into London, thanks to our extended operating hours."

A new crew member, 25-year-old Vanessa Hopkins, will oversee 'Green' watch, the creation of which has produced 11 firefighting positions.
