Malta's Medavia experienced an increase in holiday charter bookings in 2017 and expects that trend to continue this year. The company operates two Beech 1900Ds, one Dash 8-100 and one Dash 8-300 to support the oil and gas industry as well as leisure trips. It is also involved with Part 145 maintenance, Part 21J design, brokering and handling. “Apart from chartering our own aircraft on flights ranging from humanitarian aid missions to holiday charters, we also have the capability to charter third-party aircraft such as dedicated air ambulances, cargo aircraft and several executive jets,” says head of HR Ivan Refalo.

“Given the likelihood that the positive projections for 2017 will continue well into 2018, it is envisaged that we will see increased business across the board. There is likely to be more focus on the existing charter market and our MRO division hopes to develop the regional turboprop market further. We will look to add related workshops to support such activities. We will also look to invest further in our workforce, especially on the technical side of the business.”
