Héli-Union Training Center has received certification for its entrol H135 T2+ FTD Level 2 simulator. Equipped with both spherical visual and vibration systems, it enables pilots to feel real cockpit sensations such as vortex ring, turbulence or ground contact.

The simulator has a three-axis autopilot, ACAS, weather radar and dual GTN 750 avionics to provide performance-based navigation training.

Another key feature is its high resolution database of the south-west of France, which incorporates satellite imagery, oil rigs, boats, detailed mountain areas and hospitals.

Deputy director Hervé Maugis says: “We are very happy with our decision to contract entrol for the development of our simulator, which is becoming a key factor in our business development. We are convinced that the FTDs are going to be the perfect tool for training on light or even medium-size helicopters.

“From an ATO perspective, it was essential to get the purchased tool delivered on time, to be fully compliant with the real aircraft specifications and to ensure a high degree of reliability. The mutual trust we established with entrol's commercial and technical staff and its ability to respond quickly and to fix the bugs inherent to all simulator developments reinforced our belief in this simulator manufacturer.”
