Russian Helicopters, working with the Iran Helicopters Support and Renewal Company (IHSRC), will test the Ka-226T rotorcraft for its performance at extremely high temperatures, up to 50 degrees celsius.

The tests will be conducted on the Iranian company's site as part of a memorandum signed by the parties in May 2017 at HeliRussia. The Ka-226T has already arrived in Iran and has commenced test flights. Following the tests, Russian Helicopters and IHSRC will hold a conference in Iran to acquaint potential customers with the aircraft.

“Testing of the Ka-226T in the extreme climatic conditions of Iran will make the helicopter even more attractive for potential operators, not only in this country but throughout the Middle East,” comments Russian Helicopters CEO Andrey Boginsky. “We have noticed a lot of interest in this helicopter in the region even now, and we hope that our cooperation with our partners from IHSRC will allow us to turn this interest into several contracts and agreements.” The Ka-226T has a MTOW of 3.6 tonnes and can transport up to 1.1 tonnes of payload.
