London Biggin Hill airport (LBH) played host to a highly successful Business and General Aviation Day (BGAD) in September, as close to 700 visitors and exhibitors enjoyed a productive and informative event in the airport's 4,800 sqm hangar.

A variety of aircraft were on show, among them the Citation Latitude making its UK show debut. BACA and BBGA hosted a lively selection of talks across two seminar rooms. As ever, the informal atmosphere enabled industry colleagues to catch up face-to-face and to do business.

BGAD reached its climax when guests ventured out of the hangar to witness a press flight of the Latitude, and were also treated to a graceful display from a former RAF Hawker Hurricane to mark the 75th anniversary of Battle of Britain Day.

Marketing manager for Biggin Hill Andy Patsalides was very pleased with the turnout. “We were delighted to welcome so many friends and colleagues to BGAD,” he says. “The event was a real showcase for the airport, and we were particularly pleased to support our resident companies: Flying Smart and Oriens Aviation took the opportunity to launch their sales agencies for the TBM 900 and PC-12 and another LBH resident, Zenith Aviation, displayed its latest aircraft, a Citation XLS+.

“The UK debut of the Latitude was a pleasure to host and being able to round the day off with a tribute to those who flew from Biggin Hill with a display from a Hurricane drew proceedings perfectly to a close.”
