South African-based Fireblade Aviation, which manages the only FBO at Johannesburg's OR Tambo International airport, has selected FBO One from Amsterdam Software as its online management tool.

Fireblade commenced operations in September 2014, and is aiming to fulfil market demand for a world-class international FBO facility at South Africa's main airport. To this end it offers 24-hour refuelling from an on-site fuel farm, flight planning, a full concierge service to provide ground and onward arrangements including commercial aircraft connections, aircraft detailing, apron parking, GPUs, potable water, landing clearance, inflight catering, a vip lounge, dedicated spa, meeting rooms, and full crew facilities. International customs and immigration approval services are anticipated to be on offer by the end of the first quarter to complement the existing services.

“Our service offering is expansive and generates a huge amount of planning, paperwork, communica-tions and logistics across all the departments involved. We need to ensure we can easily follow the requirements of each client,” explains Bjorn Ischner, Fireblade Aviation general manager. “The FBO One software has an intuitive interface, and offers us the capability to customise it to our own service levels. This was one of the principle reasons we selected the product.”

The online product has the added benefit of being accessible on any mobile device. With the footprint of the Fireblade hangars, apron, fuel farm and main building spreading over more than 60,000 sqm the option to access the required information from anywhere ensures workflow efficiency.

“The selection of FBO One as the software management system to support the business reflects our desire to provide our clients with the highest quality service from operational handling to providing accurate and timely invoicing,” continues Ischner. “We are already seeing the benefits of the software and are excited to be working with this leading provider.”
