First Global delivery
The first Bombardier Global Express customer delivery has taken place in Montreal, Canada. Representatives of Long Beach, California-based AirFlite took delivery of the aircraft at Bombardier Aerospace's new completion centre. AirFlite will operate the aircraft on behalf of its parent company, Toyota Motor Sales, USA.

Islander research
Britten-Norman is to take part in a UK Government instigated research programme utilising experimental Hartzell propellers to reduce the noise impact of general aviation. The propellers will be fitted to a North East Police Air Support BN2B Islander and have a 'scimitar' planform to achieve a minimum acoustic footprint for the aircraft. The UK Department of Transport is keen to reduce aircraft noise, particularly for night time flying over urban areas.

FIRE flies
More than 170 companies will be taking part in FIRE 99, the event that claims to unite the whole fire community, of whom 100 will be promoting products for the aviation community. The event will take place this year at the Harrogate International Centre on October 19-21 and the corresponding conference will seek to enhance understanding of fire prevention issues surrounding aircraft crashes and airports. Jet Aviation adds to long-range fleet
Jet Aviation is increasingly living up to its claim to being the largest aircraft management company in the world with the addition of six further business jets to its European fleet. The additions are three Challenger 604s, two Falcon 2000s and a Citation X, all operated on behalf of their owners. The six aircraft will enhance the company's ability to meet its clients' transoceanic travel needs. One of the Challenger 604s is also available for charter work and can accommodate up to ten passengers.

GAMA figures reveal healthy growth
The general aviation industry continues to report increased aircraft shipments and billings through the second quarter of 1999 according to the General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA). Total billings were up dramatically to $3.5 billion for the first six months of 1999, a 45.1 per cent increase compared to $2.4 billion last year.

Expanding Dynamic Airlines starts work on Eindhoven FBO
Dutch operator Dynamic Airlines is embarking on an ambitious expansion programme that will see it add new aircraft and facilities over the coming eighteen months. While work has begun on an FBO at Eindhoven Airport the company has placed orders for three new Citation jets to join its existing fleet of four, with options on a further two aircraft.

Sky Service Aviation looks to broaden its horizons
To cater for its clients' desires for larger, longer range aircraft, Madrid-based air taxi company Sky Service Aviation has doubled its fleet by adding a Learjet 55 aircraft.
