Embraer sells Legacy 650 jet to Jordanian customer

Embraer has signed a contract for the sale of one Legacy 650 large executive jet to an undisclosed customer from Jordan. The announcement was made, today, at the 2010 European Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (EBACE 2010), in Geneva, Switzerland. The aircraft will be managed on behalf of the owner by private jet charter operator Arab Wings, also based in Jordan. This deal is already included in Embraer's firm order backlog of the first quarter 2010.

"We are honored by the acquisition of this Legacy 650, which will be operated and managed by Arab Wings, a respected and renowned company in the Middle East region", said Luís Carlos Affonso, Embraer Executive Vice President, Executive Jets. "The Legacy 650 will establish a new concept for business travel, offering an extended range of 3,900 nautical miles with the same superior comfort of the Legacy 600, which is a very successful aircraft in the region."

The jet is scheduled for delivery in the second half of 2010. It will be based in and operate out of Jordan. Arab Wings will also add a Phenom 100 entry level jet to its fleet, this year.

"We see an increasing demand for our aircraft handling services in the region, and this Legacy 650 will be the newest addition to our fast-growing fleet of managed aircraft," said Ahmad Abughazaleh, CEO of Arab Wings.
