PhilJets adds two business jets marking foray into private jet market

PhilJets Group, the leading boutique business aviation firm in the Philippines, continues to sustain its growth by adding two additional jets to its fleet in the first quarter of 2017. The Cessna Citation XLS+ and the Bombardier Challenger 350 are the first two brand new jets that PhilJets has added to its fleet of aircraft offered to its clients all over Asia.

With this milestone, PhilJets confirms its entry into the jet segment, after having successfully developed its helicopter line market. PhilJets will now be able to offer not just its growing fleet of helicopters but also these two top of the line business jets, which are considered the best in their class, and perfect for business travels.

PhilJets has not only expanded its fleet of versatile aircraft; it is also expanding its reach as these jets can now allow the company to reach longer distances. This milestone opens more room for opportunities and growth for the year 2017.

The Cessna Citation XLS+ will be ideal for short regional flights like Manila to Shanghai while the Challenger 350 will be exquisite for the longer regional flights such as Manila to Sydney.

This foray into the jet market has been an objective for PhilJets, which has contributed to develop business aviation in the Philippines. With this, the Philippines now has 49 private jets available. Though these figures do not come close to China's current count of 300 jets, the Philippines now has more private jets than Thailand's 33 aircraft and the country is almost on its way to catch up with Indonesia's 52 private jets. In its aim to advocate business aviation, the company has been a member of ASBAA since 2015, becoming the first member to be Manila based. PhilJets is actively joining the ABACE trade show for the first time this year.

According to Thierry Tea, CEO of PhilJets “We are thrilled to welcome both a Challenger 350 and a Citation XLS+. It is an exciting and as well as challenging adventure we embark on, and we are determined to be provide the highest level of service to our customers”.

The Citation XLS+ is ready to offer practical and comfortable flying in the Philippines. The midsize jet combines transcontinental range and first-class cabin comfort for up to eight passengers. It is built with Pratt & Whitney high-bypass engines and controls powered by Rockwell Collins Pro Line 21” avionics.

The Challenger 350 business jet boasts an exemplary design. This midsize jet goes full range with full seat capacity. It is also designed to purposefully have a safe access to baggage. Luxury exudes from this jet with its signature metal trim design and flat floor design in its cabins. The Challenger 350 is powered by Honeywell HTF7350 engines, increased thrust, lower emissions and improved fuel efficiency.

These jets will allow PhilJets Group to increase its range of services and will enable business to be further developed by providing practical travel for corporates from and to the Philippines, such as China, Taiwan, Japan and the overall Asia Pacific, thus fostering more investments and developments in the archipelago.
