Rizon Jet receives EASA Part-145 & Cayman Islands repair station certification for MRO in Doha

Rizon Jet is pleased to announce that the maintenance facility at its headquarters in Doha, State of Qatar, has successfully obtained both EASA Part-145 and Cayman Islands maintenance approvals. With these approvals in place Rizon Jet's facility in Doha is now licensed to provide all line and base maintenance for a wide variety of executive aircraft. The approvals for Doha complement those already in place at the company's UK operation in London.

Following comprehensive audits by the European Air Safety Agency (EASA) the Doha facility can offer a full range of maintenance and overhaul packages on the following aircraft types:

• Bombardier Challenger 604/605

• Hawker 750 / 800XP / 850XP / 900XP

• Global BD-700 series

In addition to line and base maintenance on the above types, the service also offers battery overhaul to aircraft using the facility. During 2012, Rizon Jet will be adding approvals for maintenance on Bermudan, Aruba, United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabian-registered aircraft.

The Rizon Jet maintenance team is led by Captain Hassan Al-Mousawi - Chief Executive of Rizon Jet Middle East and Europe - and Scott Corbett the Director of Maintenance.

With a fully fire-rated and air-conditioned hangar measuring approximately 4000 sqm including an additional 1600 sqm of office, storage and workshop space, the Doha facility can comfortably host four Bombardier Global XRS business jets (or several smaller aircraft) all at the same time.

Following the approval, the team in Doha undertook its first major scheduled maintenance contract on a Challenger 605, which included a 12 and 24 - month inspection, plus an engine replacement. Commenting on this inaugural contract, Scott Corbett, Director of Maintenance said; "I am incredibly proud of the team we have assembled here. This was the first major input and it went without issue with the aircraft being released on schedule back into service"

This new development in Doha complements the existing maintenance facility at the Rizon Group's London location at Biggin Hill Airport. In London, Rizon Jet has been providing fully approved maintenance since August 2010, and is certified for the following aircraft:

• Bombardier Challenger 604 / 605

• Hawker 750 / 800 / 800XP / 850XP / 900XP

• Bombardier LearJet 45

• Global XRS series

As well as line and base maintenance, London also offers additional services for batteries, wheels and tyres, and holds approvals for EASA, QCAA, Aruba, Bermunda and Cayman registered aircraft.

Captain Hassan Al-Mousawi, CEO of the Rizon Jet Group commented, "Our team has worked very hard for this achievement and we are very proud to have obtained the certification of EASA Part-145; our MRO is now officially open for business. During the initial stages we assembled a world-class technical team and established a strong partner network of suppliers and contractors in order to be able to provide state-of-the-art services to compete with all the top players in the region.

"As our presence in the European and Middle Eastern market continues to grow, the EASA repair station certification for the Doha MRO will provide additional capabilities and new opportunities and will allow us to better serve our European and Middle Eastern customer base - both in the near and long term."
