One Charter is planning to offer an aircraft management and brokerage service for clients intending to purchase and operate the Eclipse 500. The U.K. operation has an Eclipse 500 of its own on order for delivery in 2009.
"For every Eclipse 500 placed under management charter, we estimate it will increase the turnover of the company by #600,000 per year," says ceo Mike Ryan. He aims to expand the jet fleet to 10 or more aircraft.
Capt. Mike Giles, ceo and flight operations manager of the AOC holding subsidiary, One Air Taxi, says the company was granted an AOC after 15 months dedicated planning. Current activities are based on the Cirrus but Giles says: "We look forward to offering a new aviation experience with the entry into service of the Eclipse 500. It has a range of over 1,000 n.m. and its capability to cruise at speeds and heights of larger commercial airliners, combined with its ability to land at airports impossible for the bigger aircraft, give it a distinct advantage for business and leisure travellers."
Giles adds: "We are in serious discussions with a number of Eclipse 500 position holders and hope to be able to offer this aircraft to the air charter market in late 2008/early 2009. This will complement our Cirrus operation in the U.K. and we will expand into the European market to our goal of becoming a major European air taxi operator."
