Germany's Regional Air Express, which may add a Citation to its Metro fleet to broaden client choice, provided transport for rock group Deep Purple's European tour. Based at Muenster/Osnabrueck, the operator is evaluating what would be the best aircraft to add to its Merlin and Metro 23 and two Metro III. Thorsten Richter, ceo, says that Regional Air Express currently targets the 10 to 19 passenger market niche. "The Metro is almost unbeatable on inner European routes from the speed point of view and is ideal if you want something that is bigger than the King Air but not large long haul like the Challenger," says Richter.
